Frequently asked questions

Straight answers from our crew about clearing, mulching, dirt work, and ponds here in East Texas.

How much does land clearing cost per acre?

Honestly, it depends — thickness of the brush, size of the trees, the terrain, and how the property lays all change the number. That's why we never guess over the phone: we come walk the property with you and give you a firm, written price for exactly what you want done. Estimates are always free, with no obligation.

Does land clearing increase my property value?

Cleared, usable land almost always shows better and sells faster than ground buried in brush. Open access for hunting, grazing, building sites, or a future homesite makes a property easier to use — and easier to sell — because the hardest part of reclaiming the land is already done. We'll be straight with you: clearing doesn't automatically add dollar-for-dollar value on every tract, so during your free walk-through we'll tell you honestly whether a project makes sense for your property and your plans.

How do you price a job — and why do you need to see the property first?

We price from what we actually see on the ground. Two 10-acre tracts side by side can be completely different jobs — one open and light, one wall-to-wall brush. The on-site visit also lets us make sure our equipment can physically fit into the areas that need work and that the size of the trees can actually be mulched. It's how we give you an accurate number instead of a ballpark that changes later. Call or text and we'll set up a time that works for you.

Do I need a permit to clear land in East Texas?

In most rural parts of East Texas, no permit is needed to clear your own land. But if you're inside city limits, near a creek or wetland, or in a floodplain, different rules can apply. We've worked across the area for years — point us at your property and we'll tell you what to expect and who to check with.

What do you do with the brush and debris — is it hauled off or mulched in place?

Most of the time we mulch it right where it falls. Forestry mulching grinds trees and brush into a natural ground cover that helps stop erosion and feeds the soil — nothing has to be hauled off. That said, we also run a dozer and an excavator, so for larger trees or logging cleanup we can stack the brush piles to burn or load the debris and haul it off with our dump truck. And since we do demolition work too, we can clear out and haul off any foreign items — old structures, scrap, or debris — left on the property. You get the cleanup method that fits your job.

Can you clear right up to my fence line, around trees I want to keep, or along a creek bank?

Yes — that's precision work we do every week. Our equipment is nimble and our operators are experienced enough to work tight to fence lines, thread around the trees you want to keep, and clean up creek banks without tearing up the ground you want left alone.

How soon can you start my job?

A quality crew with the right equipment is usually booked out — sometimes a few days, sometimes a few weeks in busy seasons, and we'll give you a real date when we look at your job. Here's something worth knowing: if someone can start today, it's usually a red flag, not a bargain. Crews with proper insurance, maintained equipment, and a track record stay busy. We'd rather give you an honest start date and show up ready to do the job right than promise today and rush your land. It's worth the short wait, and once we start, we finish.

Do I need to be home while you work?

No. We walk the property with you up front. A lot of our customers are at work or out of town while we're on their land. Any water or utility lines in the areas we're working need to be flagged before we start, and any gates need to be unlocked prior to our arrival.

What's the best time of year for land clearing or pond work?

We work year-round in East Texas, but the sweet spot is late summer through winter — drier ground, thinner undergrowth, and easier on the soil. Pond work goes best during a dry stretch, when we can shape the banks and dam the way they need to be. That said, we schedule jobs in every season.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. We're fully licensed and insured on every job, CDL licensed and DOT compliant, and a member of the Henderson Area Chamber of Commerce. Proof of insurance is available with your estimate — just ask.

What payment methods do you accept, and when is payment due?

We make paying easy — we accept Venmo, credit cards, checks, cash, and ACH bank transfers. For larger jobs, we ask for a deposit on the day we begin work, with the balance due when the job is done to your satisfaction. The estimate itself is always free.
